Water to last crop, Harish assures farmers

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today directed the officials concerned to irrigate 16,84,211 acres of Medium and Major projects for Yasangi.

The minister held a video conference and discussed on Yasangi irrigation plan. “The officials should prepare a plan and implement it efficiently for providing waters to irrigate last ayacut in Telangana”, the minister said. He said efficient water management under Nizamsagar last year that irrigated 16,000 acres using one tmc waters. The officials should preserve the waters for drinking purpose and then distribute for irrigation, he added. He also stressed the need to create awareness among the farmers on the use of waters for the crops in the fields. He called coordination among other departments like Irrigation, Agriculture and Revenue. He also asked the officials to prepare the plan with data of crops in villages and mandals. (NSS)
