We can’t fight with militants without Kashmir police: Satya Pal Malik

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik said that we cannot fight against terrorists without Jammu and Kashmir police. He said the state police comprises of 1 lakh cops; resignation of few officials will make no difference.

72-year-old, Satya Pal Malik who belongs to Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh has sworn in as 13th Governor of J&K a month ago. Malik said we can’t wage war against militants in Kashmir without Jammu and Kashmir police. He said J&K police will fight with courage. We are working for the interest of this force. We have announced several facilities to J& K police during the past 10 days. He reiterated that we cannot fight without them.

Responding to the resignation spree of police officers after the abduction and killing of 3 policemen in south Kashmir’s Shopian district by the Hizbul Mujahideen, the governor said such isolated incidents make no difference; it is a very big force comprising of nearly 1 lakh policemen, he said.
