West Bengal: BJP, TMC workers clash over removal of PM’s posters

Kolkata: Removal of PM Modi’s poster near his proposed rally triggered clashes between BJP and TMC activists in Durgapur town in West Burdwan district today.

BJP activists were injured in the incident said the party’s state general secretary Sayantan Basu, News18 reported.

According to Basu, Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers have not only threatened the BJP activists but also tore apart PMs posters, placards.

“They took out our posters and pasted photos of TMC leaders. Our workers were also roughed up,” Basu said.

Meanwhile, the local TMC party workers denied the allegations. On the contrary to BJPs allegations, TMC workers claimed that BJP workers sprayed black paint on posters of chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

Police said it has received complaints and are looking into the matter.
