WhatsApp now allows you to restore deleted files for Android

New Delhi: One of the most commonly used messaging app WhatsApp will now allow you to download deleted media files in Android devices. A website that reports app’s new features, WABetaInfo, informed that the deleted media files such as images, videos, GIFs and voice messages could now be downloaded.

The new feature has been added between the 2.18.106 and 2.18.110 updates in WhatsApp, the report said.

This feature will store users’ media on its servers even after the files have been downloaded, the report added. Unlike earlier, when WhatsApp stored ‘undownloaded’ files for a span of 30 days and when a user downloaded them, the app would delete it from the server.

The instant messaging app has added many new features such as money transaction through UPI and sharing live locations. The report comes amid criticism on Facebook data breach. Recently, WhatsApp informed its users that their data and communications are secured with end-to-end encryption and nobody in between can read messages and listen to calls.
