Hyderabad: A large number of Muslim youth were arrested post Makkah Masjid blast. One of the ill-fated youth was Syed Abdul Kaleem who languished in jail for 3 years. When Swami Aseemanand was brought to Hyderabad for interrogation, he met Kaleem. Interaction with Kaleem provoked Aseemanand both reflection and regret. Kaleem and Aseemanand used to sit together and talk. Kaleem told Aseemanand that in the same case, for which he was here, Kaleem and other innocents have spent years in jail. Their education was disrupted and life spoilt.

Nearly a hundred young Muslim men were picked up in connection with the Makkah Masjid blasts.

Kaleem was arrested for allegedly trying to pass on a cellphone to his brother Khaja who was inside Chanchalguda jail.

After meeting with Kaleem, Swami Aseemanand confessed the crime. Later Kaleem was released on bail.

Kaleem told that Swami himself began the conversion. After listening to Kaleem, Swami regretted that the innocent youth are suffering because of him. He should apologize Kaleem, but Kaleem said he should apologize to the innocent people whose children and family members were killed in the blast and the youth who were falsely implicated in the blast case and had to suffer police torture.

Moved by Kaleem’s conversation Swami Aseemanand not only made confession before the judge but also promised to meet all the sufferers and apologize them. He had also promised to help the victims. He said if he dies in jail he would leave and will asking to sell off all his organs and give the amount to the kin of those who were killed in the blast. If he is out of jail he had pledged to help affected families. He had also promised to make sure that such terrorist activities may not be repeated in future, nobody must be arrested and innocents must be released.
