Will not let RSS to turn Sabarimala into another Ayodhya: Kerala CM

Kozhikode: Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said he will not let the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to turn the Sabarimala temple into another Ayodhya. He added that there was concerted bid to defame the state citing Sabarimala.

Referring to the disputed religious site in the Uttar Pradesh town Mr Vijayan on Tuesday said, “I will not allow the Sangh Parivar to make Sabarimala into another Ayodhya.” He added that BJP leaders and ministers were queuing up before Sabarimala to exploit the issue. The government would not allow anyone to fan trouble in Sabarimala.

Justifying the action taken by the police on Sunday against protesting devotees, the chief minister said their intervention helped ease the situation at the shrine to Lord Ayyappa.

It must be recalled that 70 devotees were arrested by the police late on Sunday for flouting prohibitory orders outside the Sabarimala temple. BJP and Congress slammed the Kerala government over the arrest of the devotees on Sunday.
