New Delhi: A woman guard at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, New Delhi, was arrested for allegedly beating up a patient for jumping queue. According to a senior police official, a patient along with her daughter had come to the ‘Out Patient Department’ or OPD.
Police said “As there was a long queue, the patient tried to jump and when the lady guard objected to it, they entered into an argument. The lady guard slapped the patient and later another lady guard started beating her. However, the matter was resolved only after the intervention of other people present in the area.”
The guard was arrested under section 323 (assault), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 34 (common intention) and was later released on bail.
