Bhopal: A 28-year-old woman today allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death here and later jumped into a well but was rescued, police said.
Yogeshwari stabbed her boyfriend Vibhas Kaneriya (31), a contractor, at his place in Sakat Nagar area this morning. She had gone to Vibhas’s place last night to have dinner, Inspector of Bagsewania Police Station Lalit Singh said.
After killing Vibhas, Yogeshwari ran hither and thither and in remorse jumped into a well in Piplani area from where she was rescued this morning, the officer said.
“Yogeshwari has been arrested and the knife which was used in the crime has been recovered from her possession,” Singh said.
The Inspector said Yogeshwari has told police that she and Vibhas had a relationship since last couple of years but he was not marrying her.
She suspected that Vibhas had a relation with another woman, he added.
A case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered in this regard, the officer said.
While Vibhas hailed from Betul district of Madhya Pradesh, the accused was native of Harda district. Both of them had come to district, a couple of years ago, he added.
