Women surpass men in use of smartphones: study

Hyderabad: A Survey on ‘Smartphones and Feature Phones Usage and Behaviour 2016-17 in India’ revealed an interesting fact that women in India are more prone to addiction of smart phone compared to their male counterparts. One finding of the research done by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) in association with Kantar IMRB was that women’s time pass has totally changed. The time spent on smartphones surpasses the time spent on any other media, including TV. Earlier women used to see television serials but they are now switching towards smart phones. Women are more inclined towards social media like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter compared to men. Besides, women have outdone men, in watching YouTube videos and playing games on smart phones. The survey revealed that an average consumer spent three hours per day on their smartphones.
