TRS MP Kavitha today stressed the need for encouraging women in all sectors.
Addressing a conference on “Women Leadership Summit-2018” conducted by Nalsar University at Park Hayat Hotel here, the TRS MP said the governments should take steps for empowering women. The women should get into all fields and give their better contribution for national development, she said. She also found fault with some people questioning the “dynastic” politics of women and not that of the men. The women should lead and give their best for the country.
Kavitha said the Telangana Government was encouraging women industrialists and entrepreneurs in the State. “We have started WE Hub with Rs 15 crore budget for encouraging the women”, Kavitha said. The major step taken by the State government was to help women get potable waters at their households through Mission Bhagiratha scheme, she claimed. Water in the houses will sure help the women avoid waste of time and spend time for education. The State government had taken steps for women protection and SHE teams are working better, she said.
Even as the clamor around passing the Women’s Reservation Bill grows day-by-day, Member of Parliament from Telangana K Kavitha is hopeful that it will be passed in the next session of the Parliament.
“It is high time we get the Women’s Reservation Bill passed. If not this session, then at least next session the bill should see the light of the day. The bill will surely bring about the required change in the women’s representation in politics and will help in fighting for women’s rights in a better fashion,” Kavitha said at the ’Leadership Summit – Led by Women’ organised by the Centre for Management Studies of the Nalsar University of Law in Hyderabad on Saturday.
“Why should the onus of championing women-related causes be put on only women and why cannot men champion the cause? The spirit of women empowerment has to come from men,” she said.
