Hyderabad: The names of KTR and Harish Rao are making rounds for the post of working president of TRS. It seems that the opinion of the TRS leaders is divided on this issue. On receiving information that KTR is likely to be nominated to shoulder this responsibility, the followers of Harish Rao have become active.
It may be mentioned that in the plenary session of TRS held last year, this issue had cropped up. All the preparations were made to float the name of KTR for this coveted position but at the last moment, this proposal was dropped since no consensus was arrived at.
In the ensuing plenary session, this responsibility could be given to KTR since KCR intends to play a key role in national politics and wants to entrust this responsibility to his son, KTR.
It may be noted that right from the inception of TRS, Mr. Harish Rao has been popular among the party cadre. Later, KTR joined the party after coming from US on completion of his studies.
A senior leader of TRS opined that KCR cannot agree to nominate two persons as working presidents since there can’t be two power centers.
In order to groom his son for taking his berth, Mr. KCR entrusted the responsibility of election campaign to him. For the past one year, KTR has been touring various districts under the banner “Pragati Sabha” and making people aware of various developmental programs of TRS whereas Harish Roa was given the responsibility of completing Irrigation Projects. Harish Roa has therefore advised his supporters not to take any hasty decision which would hamper the image of the party.
It remains to be seen if Mr. KCR floats the name of his son KTR, what would be the stand of Mr. Harish Rao?
