Yashki meets DG, seeks more security for party leaders in view of attacks

Hyderabad: State Congress leaders led by former MP Madhu Yashki Goud today called on Telangana Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy and urged him to provide adequate security to the party leaders.

Accompanied by party candidate from Kalwakurthy Assembly segment and former MLA Challa Vamshichand Reddy and TPCC Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy, Yashki submitted a representation to the DGP on the issue. During the meeting, Yashki informed the DGP that leaders like him, Ponnam Prabhakar, Vamshichand Reddy , Rohit Reddy and Narayana Reddy were physically attacked by some unidentified persons during the recent elections.
Yashki told the DGP that lack of adequate security provided by the State government was the main reason behind the attacks. He not only urged the DGP to take immediate steps to beef up their security, but also take action against their attackers.

Responding to the plea of the Congress leaders, the DGP instructed the Superintendents of Police of different districts to provide adequate security to all the senior Congress leaders besides taking immediate action against the culprits.

While appreciating the DGP for increasing the security cover for TPCC President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Gudur Narayana Reddy urged the DGP to take immediate measures to enhance/provide security to all important leaders. He demanded that besides him, adequate security should also be provided to Vijayashanti and Madhu Yashki Goud.
