Yechuri demands GST exemption to petrol

Alleging that the Narendra Modi government has increased petrol price by 125 percent while the price of petroleum products was decreased by 80 percent across the globe, CPM general secretary Seetaram Yechuri today demanded that the Centre to exempt GST on petroleum products.

Addressing the media here today, Yechuri said the aim of demonetization was not fulfilled and economy growth rate fell deep low. He said they floated an Intellectuals Forum to launch a movement on public issues. As part of it, they will stage a huge protest at Delhi in October on farmers’ problems, he said, adding that the BJP was weakening the nation day after day by its faulty policies. He exuded confidence that the Communists would become strong in the coming days. (NSS)
