Yesteryear actress Mumtaz deny death rumours, posts video message

MUMBAI: Veteran actress Mumtaz posted a video message through her daughter Tanya’s Instagram account to confirm she’s “happy and healthy” and she isn’t “lonely” at all (contrary to the rumours of her death)

The 70-year-old actress in the video informed the fans that she’s hale and hearty. “It felt strange to see that so many people were worried about me after so many years. I’m thankful to have received your love. Do not get worried… I’m very happy and healthy. I’m not at lonely as it was reported. My children are looking after me and I’m happy,” Mumtaz said while signing off two lines of an Urdu poem.

Over the weekend, rumours hit the Internet after a journalist tweeted that the Aap Ki Kasam (1974) actress died after a cardiac arrest.

Mumtaz’s video is viral across the internet and fans sent adorable messages like. “We love you Mumtaz ji. You are a legend and still rule our hearts. We still watch your movies regularly. So Mumtaz is still very young in our house,” wrote one user on Tanya’s post while several others said that they were delighted to watch her in the video.

“It’s so nice to see you after years ma’am ..and so wonderful that you connected with your fans a after years..,” another comment read.

In 1974, Mumtaz married industrialist Mayur Madhvani and has two daughters- Natasha and Tanya. Natasha is married actor Feroz Khan’s son Fardeen Khan. Tanya married to Italian entrepreneur Marco Cilia and lives in Rome with their son.
