Yet another award to be presented to Syed Vicaruddin by end of March

Hyderabad: Every year, the Arab Ambassadors Council nominate one distinguished personality from all over the world, who has been relentlessly working to strengthen Indo-Arab relations and extending whole-hearted support to the Arab issues and the Palestine cause, to be awarded by the League of Arab States.

This year, Chairman of Indo-Arab League Hyderabad and Chief Editor of 97-year-old Urdu Daily “The Rahnuma-E-Deccan” Syed Vicaruddin has been unanimously nominated for this prestigious award, which will be presented to him at a glittering ceremony to be held in New Delhi on the Arab League Day during the last week of March, in the presence of Arab Ambassadors, Union Ministers and a host of other VVIPS.

Syed Vicaruddin was earlier awarded by the Morocco President King Mohammed VI of at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi for promoting Indo-Arab relations. Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahmed also conferred Syed Vicaruddin at UAE Embassy in New Delhi. Syed Vicaruddin is the only Indian to be conferred with ‘The Star of Jerusalem’ — the highest Palestinian civilian award for his continuous support for the Palestinian cause.
Palestinian Ambassador to India Adnan Abu Al Haija also conferred Syed Vicaruddin with the UN gold medal on the golden jubilee celebration of Indo-Arab League Hyderabad. Ambassador of Iraq to India Fakhri Hassan Al Issa called Syed Vicaruddin as the ‘Global Palestinian Ambassador’. Besides, Syed Vicaruddin received many awards at national and international levels for his relentless services in maintaining strong relations between India and Arab world, Jameel Ahmed Khan, PRO, Indo-Arab League, Hyderabad has said.
