Nitish’s silence speaks louder than words in PM Modi rally

NEW DELHI: A video of PM Modi chanting “Vande Mataram” pumping fists in the air, while ally Nitish Kumar, who remained seated, stayed silent is in wide circulation on social media.

The video, of the rally at Darbhanga in Bihar seen by many shows Modi, crowd and the leader on the platforms standing fervently chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”.

The JD(U) chief has made no bones about its differences with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance over contentious issues like Triple Talaq and abrogation of Article 370, remained seated resolutely silent with just a ghost of a smile crossing his face.

As everyone including another alliance partner on the stage, LJP chief and union minister Ram Vilas Paswan rose to their feet and raised slogans while thrusting their clenched fists into the air, the silence of Kumar was evident.

The video left social media abuzz:
