Hyderabad: Dismissing the remarks on 6000 Rohingya Muslims making Hyderabad their home, claimed by Union Minister of State for Home Kishan Reddy, Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood said the state government has no information on the presence of a large number of Rohingya Muslims in the city and that no report has been sent to Centre on the issue.
“We have information that some Rohingya have settled down in the city by obtaining identity cards. But, there is no official communication on their presence and number. No report has been sent to the Centre on the issue,” the minister told STOI.
The Minister refuted Kishan Reddy’s claims made against Telangana Government regarding Rohingya Muslims making Hyderabad their home after Jammu and Kashmir, reports TOI.
He
added: “If the Centre takes a policy decision on sending back Rohingya to their
respective country, the state government is ready to implement it,” the state
home minister said.
The law and order situation in Telangana is the
best in the country he said.
“Everybody has a right to file a nomination in the by-election. No sarpanch or person was arrested or taken into custody. If any person is illegally detained, action will be taken against police officers,” Mahmood said at a press conference in Telangana Bhavan on Saturday.
Reacting to claims of Kishan Reddy regarding Rohingya’s procuring Aadhar cards he said it is the Centre’s call to take and come up with a policy decision.
