NPR first step towards NRC: Protest meeting held

Hyderabad: National Population Register (NPR) is the first step towards National Register of Citizens (NRC) in which 21 questions will be asked to the citizens. These are the same questions which were asked to the people of Assam. These questions include about the details of place of birth of the parents.

This will be difficult for the illiterate people who do not have the details of their place and date of birth. These were the apprehensions expressed by most of the speakers who addressed a protest meeting held at MaharanaPratap Hall, Amberpet organised by Communist Party of India yesterday to register protest against NRC, NPR and CAA.

It may be mentioned that the process of NPR will start on 1st April.

The participants pledged that they won’t show any documents to the enumerator who come to their houses for seeking information.

Addressing the gathering, member of the politburo of CPI (M) Brenda Karat told that the partition of India is not the result of the concept of formation of Pakistan as proposed by Jinnahbut the consequence of the two nation theory of Savarkar who was the agent of the British.

She further told that if the political situation of the country is reviewed, it will be known that after 2014, BJP projected only those issues which generate hatred among the people. The worst part of the history of the country was “Demonetization” which resulted in several deaths and loss of jobs of many.

No rich person was found in the queues near the banks for the exchange of old currency.

It was claimed that every person would have Rs. 15 lakh in his bank account as a result of getting back black money from other countries which didn’t happen.

Continuing her speech, Brenda Kanat told that there was no need to amend citizenship act as everything is clearly mentioned in Articles 5 to 21 of Constitution.

It was done only to cover up the failure of the Govt. and also to implement the agenda of the RSS.

She also said that the constitution is the heart of the country. Any attempt to change it would amount to an attack on the heart.

She clarified that the protesters at Shaheen Bagh and other places are raising slogans praising Bhagat Singh, Asfaqullah Khan and other and not about Jinnah.

She welcomed the announcement that CM of TS Mr. KCR is not going to implement CAA, NRC and NPR in the state.

Addressing the gathering Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily told that NRC is not only the issue concerning the Muslims but it also affects S.Cs, S.Ts, OBCs and other who do not possess valid documents to prove their citizenship. Such persons would be deprived of the privileges or they would be asked to become Hindus.

He further told that unemployment is on the increase and the entire  Wealth of the country is accumulated in the hands of only 1% of the population.

He blamed the Govt. that it has reduced corporate tax from 35% to 25% to enable the corporate sector to grab the natural resources of the country.

Mr. Khan also told in order to encourage hatred among various sections of society. Govt. is enacting such black laws.

He pointed out that the formation of Pakistan was based on religious which failed. If an attempt is made to divide India on the basis of religious, no one can save it from disintegrating. This seems to be the plan of the Modi Govt. he said.

He mentioned that India is a bouquet of flowers in which all the people belonging to various religion flourish.

He urged the people to join the protest programmes against these black laws.
