Olivia Colman and Anthony Hopkins roped in for the adaptation of ‘The Father’

Washington: Oscar winners, Olivia Colman and Anthony Hopkins have been roped in for Florian Zeller’s ‘The Father’s’ adaptation.

As learned by Variety, the film is an adaptation of Zeller’s stage play ‘The Father’ and the shoot is scheduled to start in the UK, this month. The film is being financed by Film4, Elarof Fund.

Anthony who bagged an Oscar for ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ will play a prankish and highly independent man, who will discard any assistance from his daughter as he ages. The role of the daughter is being essayed by Colman, who won an Oscar for her in the film ‘The Favourite’ in her first-ever nomination.

Florian Zeller is directing the adaptation of his play and has also written the screenplay along with Christopher Hampton.

‘The Father’, first shown in Paris earned a Moliere Award for the best play before it hit Broadway and London’s West End.

Olivia will be seen playing Queen Elizabeth II for Season three and four of the web TV series ‘The Crown’. She replaced Claire Foy for the role.
