Pakistani actors turned rappers to promote peace between two nations

KARACHI: A rap video titled ‘Humsaye Maa Jaye’ by veteran Pakistan actors calling for peace and harmony between the two neighbouring countries has been doing rounds on social media.

Veteran Pakistan actors Bushra Ansari teamed up with her sisters, actor Asma Abbas and Neelum Ahmed Basheer in rap video song which riffs on the tune of the evergreen Bollywood hit Kajra Mohabbat Wala from Kismat.

The video features the two housewives as neighbours with Asma playing a woman from Pakistani woman and Bushra Ansari as an Indian divided by a stone wall. and highlighting the similarities between .

The sisters can be seen highlighting the similarities between the two cultures and talking about hate speech and war theatre between the two nuclear-armed nations

“I have heard about some trouble between our two countries,” Ansari raps from their kitchen, to which Abbas replies, “Nothing, it’s just politics playing games.”

The description of the video called it “a music video that goes beyond war and borders to the hearts of people living so close, and yet so far away.”
