‘Phir Tabadla’: IAS officer transfer 53rd time in 28 yrs

NEW DELHI: “Phir tabadla,” was the terse opening to a tweet by Senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka, the principal secretary of the Science and Technology Department.

The 1991-batch IAS officer on Wednesday said that the “reward for honesty is a humiliation”

“Same thing again,” Khemka tweeted. “Constitution Day was celebrated yesterday. Today, the orders and rules of the Supreme Court were violated yet again. Some will be pleased,” the tweet in Hindi added.

He was transferred last in March from the Sports and Youth Affairs Department.

Khemka has now been transferred to the Archives Department by the Haryana government in the same rank. 

Khemka, who was in the news for in 2012 for cancelling the mutation of a land deal between Congress leader Sonia Gandhi”s son-in-law Robert Vadra”s Skylight Hospitality and real estate developer DLF, was among 14 IAS officers who were transferred.

Among others, Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Excise and Taxation, was posted with the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department and Cooperation Department.

So was Pranab Kishore Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Mines and Geology Department, who was posted with the Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.

Alok Nigam, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works Department (Building and Roads) and Architecture, Forests and Wildlife Department, was posted with Forest and Wildlife Department and Medical Education and Research Department.
