Photos: Christmas celebrated with religious fervor in Srinagar

Srinagar: Amid harsh winter chill and coronavirus, like other parts of the world Christmas was celebrated in Srinagar with religious ardor.

Despite the chilling cold of “Chillia Kalan”, the harshest 40-days long cold spell in Kashmir, the worshipers gathered at Holy Catholic Church in Lal Chowk Srinagar to celebrate the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ. On this occasion, the priest of the Church threw light on the teachings of Jesus Christ and also said the worshipers to spread the message of peace and love.

Worshipers from all parts of the valley had come to join the prayers with zeal and enthusiasm and prayed for the good well-being of people in the valley and across the world.

Churches in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir had already asked the people not to go for any get-to-gathers or outside meetings regarding happy Christmas. They were told by the churches to only come to the churches for prayers and stay home.
