PM likely to visit shilanyas event in UAE: Indian diplomat raises apprehensions

New Delhi: After a report hinted that PM Modi may visit shilanyas event at an under-construction temple in UAE, diplomat raised apprehensions.

According to the report published in The Hindu, Mr. Rajiv Dogra, Ambassador said that such visit by Prime Minister will provide photos which can be used during the upcoming general elections.

It is also reported that as per local sources in Abu Dhabi and diplomatic sources, PM Modi is likely to attend Shilanyas ceremony on 20th April.

It may be mentioned that work at BAPS Abu Dhabi Hindu Temple began in the month of February 2018.

After construction work began, an old video of UAE Journalist saying Hindu religious words was telecasted by a TV channel claiming that the person in the video is Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed of Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, former Ambassador, Mr. M.K. Bhadrakumar reminded that India should keep its relation with Iran in mind while dealing with UAE.
