Pope Francis extends Ramadan and Eid greetings to Muslims

Vatical City: The Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue (PCID) has wished the Muslims worldwide for the Holy Month of Ramadan which culminates in Eid on June 5.

The message was signed by Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, the Secretary of PCID.

The PCID has urged Christians and Muslims worldwide to strengthen the spiritual bonds they share.

The Pontifical Council has released the messages in four major languages Arabic, French, Italian, and English to reach a wider audience.

The message stated that religions invite “us to remain rooted in the values of peace; to defend the values of mutual understanding, human fraternity, and harmonious coexistence to re-establish wisdom, justice, and love.”

The message also emphasized on respecting diversity and acknowledging individual’s right to life, freedom of conscience, expression and of religion.

“Ramadan with its dedication to fasting, prayer, and almsgiving, is also a month for strengthening the spiritual bonds we share in Muslim-Christian friendship,” notes the message
