Popular Front of India demands reservation for Muslims

New Delhi: A meeting of the Muslim intellectuals, scholars and political leaders was organized by Popular Front of India at Press Club of India, New Delhi on 6th March. Delegates from various states participated in it. The present political scenario was discussed in the meeting. It was decided to highlight the problems the Muslims of India are facing. At the end of the meeting, a charter of demands was finalized which highlights the development of Muslim community, proper representation in various bodies, progress in education and reservation in various fields.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of its President, Mr. E. Abu Baker. The delegates demanded the political parties who claim to support the Muslim cause to include these issues in their election manifestos.

Voters belonging to minority communities were requested to exercise their votes in the Lok Sabha Elections of 2019 in favour of only those political parties which support their cause.

Mr. E.M. Abdur Rahman was the moderator of the function. Dr. Tasleem Rehmani drafted the charter of demands whereas Mr. Mohammed Ali Jinnah welcomed the audience. Mr. Abdul Wahid Seth proposed vote of thanks.

It was also decided to distribute pamphlets in 100 Lok Sabha Constituencies where the votes of minorities are decisive factors. Public meetings and other campaigns will also be organized soon.
