Pregnant woman in hijab thrashed in Sydney cafe bless with baby

SYDNEY: A 31-year-old heavily pregnant woman in hijab allegedly stomped on in Parramatta café in Sydney has been blessed with a healthy baby boy.

Rana Elasmar, who was 38 weeks pregnant at the time of the attack announced on Thursday that her baby had been born unharmed.

“I would now like to share the announcement of the birth of my beautiful son Zayn,” she wrote.

“I know this will bring a sense of comfort to you all, knowing that through this difficult time, an innocent baby has not been harmed.

“He is such a blessing and I will enjoy this special time at home with him while I continue to recover.”

“Thank you again for all your well wishes.”

The incident described as a ‘random Islamophobic’ attack was caught on CCTV. 

Before Ms Elasmar was assaulted, the accused Stipe Lozina lunged over the table and made comments about Muslims.
