Punjab: No religious places, persons allowed to use loudspeakers

New Delhi: Religious places like Mosques, temples, gurudwara’s along with any other place in the state have been directed not to use loudspeakers or public address systems without permission from authorities.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court have issued the directions that no person in the state should use loudspeakers without the written permission of the authorities in order to curb noise pollution in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, India today reports.

The imposed restrictions will be pertinent during the daytime according to the new directions.

The court has also banned noise-emitting construction operations that mostly take place during the night and urged the state police to make sure no horns are blown at residential areas between 10 pm to 6 am.
