Rahul a captain who deserted his sinking ship: Chouhan

Jaipur: Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former MP Chief Minister, here on Monday termed Rahul Gandhi as ‘ranchhod’ (deserter) Gandhi and said he became the first captain to desert a sinking ship.

There was no Congress chief for many days and even today Sonia Gandhi was just the interim president, said the BJP membership campaign national convener. “The party can never grow till it’s ruled by the family legacy”, Chouhan said.

He also slammed the Congress for not fulfilling the promise of farm loan waiver in 10 days after winning elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

“No Chief Minister was removed. The Congress president himself has quit”, he said and added, the law and order situation in all Congress-ruled states had deteriorated.

He also hit out at the Gandhi family for being silent on Article 370. “The Congress even failed to give its opinion on this development. Neither Sonia nor Rahul or Priyanka have spoken on the issue. In fact, when journalists asked Priyanka Gandhi about her opinion, the Congress workers manhandled them,” the BJP leader said.
