Days after shoot with Samantha Akkineni, Rakul Preet Singh tests COVID positive

Mumbai: Bollywood and south star Rakul Preet Singh who recently started shooting for her upcoming film ‘MayDay’, has tested positive for Covid-19. The news was confirmed by the actress herself on Tuesday.

Taking to her Twitter handle, Rakul Preet Singh said that she has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and is currently in quarantine. The 30-year-old actor said she is “feeling fine” and urged all those who came in her contact to get tested.

“I’d like to inform everyone that I have tested positive for COVID-19. I have quarantined myself. I am feeling fine and will rest up well so that I can be back at shoot soon.

“Request everyone who met me to kindly get yourself tested. Thank you and please stay safe,” she wrote.

Rakul Preet Singh had been travelling a lot for the shoots. She was recently in Hyderabad for the shooting of Samantha Akkineni’s chat show, Sam Jam. Post the shoot, she returned to Mumbai and headed for the shooting of her Bollywood film, MayDay, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan.

“Mayday”, which also features Amitabh Bachchan, Angira Dhar and Devgn, went on floors on December 11.

Billed as an “edge-of-the-seat” drama, “Mayday” features Devgn as a pilot and Singh as his co-pilot. The details of Bachchan’s character have been kept under wraps.

Meanwhile, Rakul Preet Singh also has South project. She will be seen in Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2. The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal in the lead role.
