An aerial view as Workers busy in renovation and restoration works of the historic Makkah Masjid (mosque terrace) by Archaeological Survey of India(ASI) 90% of the work completed ahead of the holy month of Ramzan in old city of Hyderabad Makkah Masjid is one of the largest mosques in India with a capacity of 20,000. The mosque was built between the 16th and 17th centuries, state-protected monument situated in the heart of the old city of Hyderabad, close to the historic landmarks of Charminar, Chowmahalla Palace and Laad Bazaar.
