Rohingya refugee held for impersonate as an Indian citizen

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force of South Zone, Hyderabad, along with Falaknuma police apprehended a Rohingya refugee who allegedly impersonated as an Indian citizen.

The sources said that he had secured Indian Voter ID Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, and Pan Card. He also possessed UNHICR card. By using these identity proves the refugee was claiming all welfare schemes introduced by the state and central governments.

The accused has been identified as Aziz Ur Rahman aged 24 years, working in a slaughter house at Falaknuma.

Aziz Ur Rahman had migrated to Hyderabad in 2008. Later, he married Sabekun Nahar Begum, a refugee. The couple was blessed with a daughter.

Chakravarthy Gummi, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, said that Aziz Ur Rehman had claimed ‘KCR KIT’ for his wife. The accused first obtained Voter Card by submitting the Electricity bill. Once they obtained Voter Card, they applied for Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, Driving License and Pan Card. Finally he also applied for Passport to legalize himself and his wife Indian citizens. All through the process they impersonated as Indians.
