Hyderabad: Parts of roof plaster in an abandoned room of the Radiology department in Osmania General Hospital OGH crashed on Friday morning. The room was locked and condemned for a long time and the hospital management was using it to store unused medical equipment, according to senior hospital doctors.
In the last one year, there have been several instances of roof plaster fall at several medical wings in the old heritage building of OGH. The century-old heritage building houses several inpatient wards, surgical wings and also the administration. The incident occurred on Friday morning in a locked condemned room. “We have been using that room to store old and unused furniture. There was no one in the room when the incident happened because it was locked,” said OGH Superintendent Dr B. Nagender.
