Hyderabad: Congress leaders from Ranga Reddy district on Thursday severely condemned former minister and party MLA P Sabita Indira Reddy for quitting the party to join the TRS.
Addressing mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here today, Ranga Reddy DCC president Narsimha Reddy said it was atrocious for Sabita Indra Reddy to leave the Congress after enjoying power during the Congress rule. He urged the party leaders and workers not to get motivated with the decision of Sabita Indra Reddy to leave the party and work hard for the victory of Congress leader Konda Visweswar Reddy from Chevella parliamentary constituency. Vikarabad MLA and DCC president Pilot Rohit Reddy alleged that the ruling TRS party leaders were coercing the Congress leaders to join their party.
He made it clear that nothing would happen to the Congress party due to the resignation of any party leader. He also claimed that a senior TRS leader quit the race for Chevella Lok Sabha seat as he was scared of facing defeat. He urged the people in the constituency to vote for sitting MP K Visweswar Reddy and ensure his victory in the upcoming elections. He also said they would ensure victory of MPTCs and ZPTCs in the district.
Former MLA K Laxma Reddy condemned the decision of Sabita Indra Reddy to quit the party to join the TRS. The former minister said the party had given a lot of respect to Sabita and wondered as to how Sabita would achieve the unfulfilled dreams of her late husband Indira Reddy in TRS Party. He wanted to know from Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as to what kind of message he gave to the martyrs of the State by allowing Sabita to join his party. He also said Sabita’s exit from Congress would not have any impact on the party.
