RSS affiliate awards members of FB Group for targeting anti-nationals after Pulwama attack

New Delhi: RSS affiliate awarded members of a Facebook Group by name “Clean the Nation” for targeting anti-national people by registering complaints.

According to the report published in The Wire, this group had filed complaints against more than 50 persons who allegedly posted anti-government social media posts.

The members of the group were felicitated by Ms. Smriti Irani, Union Minister and Mr. Manmohan Vaidya, RSS Joint General Secretary.

It may be mentioned that the group was started after the Pulwama terror attack. The aim of its administrator Ashutosh Vashishtha is ‘cleaning and weeding out anti nationals’.

Although the group was reportedly deleted two days after its creating, its Twitter account has more than 7000 followers.

In the first video, member of the group, Madhur Singh had asked netizens to their change DPs and take out candle march.

He also asked netizens to find out persons who are happy at the incident and report it to their employers and universities.

It may be recalled that BJP MP representing East Delhi Lok Sabha Constituency, Mr. Maheish Girri had praised the administrators of the group.

Associate Professor at a college in Guwahati, Papri Banerjee was one of the targets of the group. Police had registered two cases against the Asst. Professor. She also received rape and death threats.

In Rajasthan, cases under relevant sections of IPC were booked against four students belonging to Kashmir. They landed in trouble for a WhatsApp status which they reportedly shared after Pulwama attack.

Another man faced charges under relevant sections of IPC and IT Act for a Facebook post on Wing Commander, Mr. Abhinandan Varthaman.

In Greater Noida, an MBA student had also landed in trouble for a Facebook post.
