Ulyanovsk [Russia]: An Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet 100 bound for Moscow was forced to abort takeoff here after its hydraulic system reportedly malfunctioned.
“Flight SU1389 SSJ-100 aborted takeoff at a speed of 55 kilometres per hour (34 miles per hour) due to the failure of the first hydraulic system,” Sputnik quoted a source as saying.
The passengers on board refused to continue the flight, the source added.
This comes after an Aeroflot plane – of the same make – caught fire upon making an emergency landing in Moscow earlier this month. The plane reportedly faced an onboard electronics failure merely 30 minutes after taking off.
At least 41 people out of the 78 on board lost their lives in the mishap.
