Saudi Arabia: Hyderabad man missing from Mecca traced in hospital

Hyderabad: Hyderabad man who had gone missing since May 25 from Masjid al-Haram in Mecca has been found to be safe informed Union external affairs minister S Jaishankar.

The Hyderabad man identified as Mohammed Khader aged around 60 had gone to perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia and since then was reported missing was traced in Saudi Arabia and was found in a hospital in Mecca by the Consulate General of India, Jeddah, TOI reports.

“Glad to know that Mohd Sami’s father, who went missing a few weeks ago, has been found with the help of our consulate. Keep up the good work team!” external affairs minister Jaishankar tweeted on Sunday.

Social worker Amjed Ullah Khan brought the issue to the notice of CGI, Jeddah who further carried out the search operation.

“We spoke to his son and assured him of all possible assistance to trace Khader. We will also seek the assistance of local authorities to trace him,” CGI had said in response to the request on June 8.

Similarly in a different case, additional 25 Umrah pilgrims have successfully reached Hyderabad with the help pof CGI, Jeddah after a travel agent cheated these pilgrims.

According to Amjed Ullah Khan, the pilgrims were stranded on the road without food and accommodation.

“We are happy that all the 25 Umrah pilgrims have now reached Hyderabad. We had assisted them in arranging their accommodation in Hyderabad Rubat,” CGI, Jeddah informed.

The pilgrim victims were subjected to difficulties in a foreign land with no arrangements for their stay, food and accommodation as the travel agent cheated them.
