SC to hear plea filed by deceased Kolkata IPS officer’s wife after two weeks

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday said the plea filed by deceased IPS officer Gaurav Dutt’s wife Shreyashi will be heard after two weeks.

Advocate appearing for Shreyashi told the top court that she would like to withdraw the plea seeking independent inquiry into the death of her husband. She also sent a letter to the top court pertaining to the withdrawal of the case claiming she is not in a correct state of mind.

However, a top court bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said the petition will be heard after two weeks.

Gaurav Dutt was reportedly found with a slit wrist at his home on February 19. He had taken voluntary retirement last year.

According to media reports, the deceased’s officer’s wife had earlier alleged that her husband had been ‘humiliated’ by the Mamata Banerjee-led government.
