New Delhi: Goa police registered a case of sexual harassment against swimming coach, Surjeet Ganguly. It is alleged that he harassed sexually a 15 year old girl during swimming training.
The video of this incident went viral. Meanwhile, sports minister, Mr. Kiran Rajiju promised that stern action would be taken against him if proved guilty.
It may be mentioned that Goa Sports Association took immediate action and suspended him.
Criminal case under sections 361 (molestation), 354 (misbehavior) and 506 have been registered against Ganguly.
The whereabouts of Ganguly are not yet known.
Mr. S.A.Majeed, Secretary of Goa swimming Association told the media persons that the contract of coach Ganguly has been terminated.
He also informed that he watched the video of the incident.
It may be mentioned that Ganguly was appointed as coach two years back.
