Muslims in the Hyderabad observed the Shab-e-Meraj (night of ascension) on Wednesday. This is an important event in Islam, which occurs on the twenty-seventh of Rajjab, the seventh month of the Islamic calendar.

Special religious discourses and programmes were organised at various mosques, To mark the occasion, thousands of people visited the historic Makkah Masjid in the Old City.
