Shah Alam explains why brutal violence took place at JNU

New Delhi: Dr. Shah Alam Khan, Additional Professor of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi addressed the gathering at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

Quoting Stephen Hawking’s views, ‘Human race will end due to greed and stupidity’, Khan said that JNU students are being attacked as they raise questions against greed and stupidity.

He also told that JNU students are being attacked as they stand against threats and fear. ‘It will continue’, he added.

Talking about Indian Civilization,  Khan said that ‘India is more than a country, it is a civilization. In civilization, a period of 10-15 years is very short’

Poverty in India

Highlighting the poverty in India, Khan said that a girl, Sushila Kumari (11), a native of Jharkhand had died of hunger.

JNU are witnessing attacks to divert the attention of its students from poverty, unemployment etc., Khan said.

Quoting the report released by UNICEF, he said that in 2018, every day, 2000 children died in India.

Brutal violence at JNU

On 5th January, several masked individuals said to be both male and female thrashed students, including girls and teachers inside the varsity campus with wooden and metal rods.

In the attack, many got injured. After the attack, students of many universities had taken rallies to show solidarity with JNU students.
