Shaheen Bagh protesters observe 37 days of dharna in style

NEW DELHI: ”Jashn-e-Shaheen” — an evening of poetry and songs was organised on Sunday, January 19 to celebrate the spirit of the protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).

Different artists include Ankur Tewari, Hussain Haidry, Saba Azad, Aamir Aziz, and Sabika Abbas Naqvi participated in the event. 

Kashmiri Pandits also descend on the anti-CAA protest site to highlight their own plight for the last 30 years after forcible ouster from the Valley, as well as seek support for their cause.

To show solidarity with Kashmiri Pandits, anti-CAA activists also observed a two-minute silence.

There were rumours doing rounds that the Kashmiri Pandits were rough up however, the videos of them addressing the gathering at Shaheen Bagh in the evening refutes all claims.

Shaheen Bagh has become a hub of anti-CAA protest for over a month now.

Despite harsh winter winds, hailstorms, rains, and freezing cold, women and children leading the protest against the contentious CAA for its alleged discrimination against a particular community.
