Shocker: Class 12th pass fraudulently practices as ‘Doctor’, treats 90,000 patients

Rajasthan: A 12th standard pass student fraudulently practicing as an MBBS doctor was nabbed in a hospital in Palsena of Sikhar district today.

The accused had only studied till 12th standard yet have been practicing as a doctor over the past nine years earning a salary of Rs 1 lakh per month.

The accused identified as 44-year-old Man Singh Baghel has duped over 90,000 patients in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The police said the accused had begun practicing in Agra.

According to Police, the accused had accidentally found a medical degree belonging to Dr Manoj Kumar five years ago while traveling in a train in Mathura.

He replaced his picture in the medical degree and started to claim to be a doctor.

According to police, Baghel saw an advertisement about the requirement of a doctor in the Sikar hospital last year and applied for the job that promised a salary of Rs 1 lakh. He appeared for an interview and was selected.

The hospital authorities on the other hand too started receiving complaints against Bagel’s treatment soon after he joined the hospital.

In one case, Baghel’s treatment led to the deterioration of a heart patient’s condition which had to be referred to another hospital.

This case alerted hospital authorities who have sent a team to keep check on Baghel.

The team later carried out the investigation and found his voter identity card details verified on the Election Commission website and set a trap to arrest him.

The Police have arrested Baghel under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of document) and 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating).
