Sky is the limit for getting education: Zahid Ali Khan

Hyderabad: Children’s Day was celebrated at ‘The star school’ yesterday to mark the birthday of the first PM of India, Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru.

This school is located at Khairatabad which has been established by ‘Helping Hand’, a noted voluntary organization of Hyderabad City.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily was the chief guest of the function.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan applauded the efforts of Mr. Iftakhar Hussain, Chairman of the managing committee of the School and Dr. Shoukat Ali Mirza, Managing Trustee of the School for their untiring efforts in the field of education.

He stressed the need for the teachers of the school to prepare children to be able to get IAS, IPS and other coveted posts in the future.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan lamented the present situation of the Muslim officers in the secretariat and said that there was a time when there used to more than 70% IAS officers but today, there is none.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan advised the students to get rid of the apprehension that they would be discriminated against on the basis of their religion.

Giving the example of UPSC exams, he said that exams are so foolproof and transparent that there is no opportunity for any recommendation or favoritism.

Citing the example of Shah Faisal, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that he topped the civil service examination of the 2011 batch despite being a Kashmir Muslim.

Earlier, Dr. Shoukat Ali Mirza highlighted the aims and objectives of starting the school. He thanked the family members of Mr. Iftekhar Hussain who handed over the entire building with 20 thousand sft capacity for this school.

Ms. Sunita Bhandari’s principal of the school conducted the program and Mr. Rizwan Hyder supervised.
