Not very often we hear about creatures that don’t look from this world but when one such rumour makes it to the internet, BAM! It goes viral.
Not so very long ago, pictures of a huge alien-like bird have sent chills to many social media users around the world, TN reports.
But this creature turns out to be a Harpy Eagle, the largest extant species of eagles in the world, not quite known before to the world.
These Harpy eagles weigh anything between 3.8-9 kilogram and their wingspan can reach up to 7 feet and 4 inches. They may measure from 2 feet, 10 inches to 3 feet, 6 inches in height.
The video of these birds circulated in 2017 and only recent resurfaced again.
The video shows a broken ceiling in the first few seconds and later through a hole in the ceiling two creatures that look like aliens are seen standing inside the attic.
The video has spooked many across the globe. So are these aliens? No, they are just owls.
But yes their appearance is kind of freaky.
Ornithologist Kevin McGowan had back then told the owls were babies and didn’t have full-grown feathers to cover their bodies.
“Baby barn owls are some of the freakiest-looking creatures on Earth. They start off looking kind of freaky and they stay that way until they get fully feathered,” McGowan told Popular Mechanics.
