Srinagar: Restriction imposed after NIA summons separatist leader Mirwaiz Farooq, exclusive pictures

SRINAGAR: Strict Restrictions were imposed in Downtown Srinagar on Sunday after the National Investigation Agency summoned Jammu and Kashmir’s separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and son of Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Naseem Geelani, for questioning in its ongoing probe into the terror funding case.

The curfew-like restriction was imposed in areas falling under five police stations in downtown to avoid protest against NIA summons to Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, a Kashmiri separatist leader.

The NIA action came almost 11 days after it carried out searches at the residence of several separatist leaders at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir.
