State government personally targeting me: Naidu

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh’s leader of opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday alleged that YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government is personally targeting him.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president said from the manner in which the government was functioning, it appears that he is the only the problem for the government.

The former chief minister was interacting with party workers in his Kuppam constituency in Chittoor district.

This was his first visit to his constituency since losing power to YSRCP in May. He thanked people for electing him to the Assembly for another term.

Naidu said the government’s entire focus appeared to be on his house and on scaling down his security instead of solving people’s problems. He was referring to the notice served for demolition of the house he was living in Amaravati on the banks of the Krishna river.

“The government itself does not know why it demolished Praja Vedika,” Naidu said referring to demolition of the meeting hall built during his rule close to his house in Amaravati.

The structure was dismantled last week on the direction of Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who alleged that it was built in violation of all laws. He also claimed that Naidu was living in an illegal house.

The TDP chief said Jagan Reddy had got 30 internal probes involving him, and that when nothing was found the chief minister vent his anger at the ministers.

Naidu voiced concern over continuing attacks on TDP cadres by the ruling party. Stating that six TDP workers had lost their lives in the attacks so far, he assured the cadres that he would stand by them.
