Step to prevent atrocities on women: HM assures

Hyderabad: Expressing concern over the continuing atrocities on girls and women across the country, Telangana Home Minister Mahamood Ali today said the TRS government was determined to provide complete protection to women and girls in the State. She teams and stringent measures by the police officials are giving positive results of bringing down crime rate, he added.

Participating as the chief guest at National Girl Child Celebrations at Indira Priyadarshi Auditorium here today, Mahmood Ali said the government was providing financial assistance to poor families to perform marriage of their girl children. “We are intensifying efforts to ensure that the State achieve zero crime rate. We are giving Rs 1.16 lakh towards marriage of the poor girl under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak scheme and many people have been benefited so far. The same schemes and other welfare schemes of Telangana are being adopted by other States”, he claimed.

The Home Minister also said KCR Kits program has increased child deliveries in the government hospitals. The families were getting a benefit of Rs 12,000 and Rs 13,000 on delivery of a baby boy and baby girl respectively, Ali said, adding residential schools for Muslim Minorities, the government has been offering Rs 20 lakh financial assistance towards foreign studies.
