Hyderabad: Daily commuting in city have become a major task due to TSRTC strike. Another trouble for Hyderbadees as Ola and Uber went on strike here on Saturday. The Hyderabad region was affected after transport unions JAC as well as Ola and Uber drivers protested in support of their list of six demands given on August 8th to the transport ministry, Ola, Uber and IT sector companies.
Around 10 transport unions, taxis, private cabs, maxi cabs, Ola and Uber cabs and other commercial vehicles went on a strike. The strike is scheduled to continue till night. As many as 1800 Ola and Uber vehicles are estimated to have stayed off the roads on Saturday till afternoon.
According to sources, passengers from Hyderabad airport were affected in large number as they were unable to reach their households, some of the passengers missed their flights due to Ola and Uber strike as they haven’t reach the airport on time.
Speaking to siast.com Shaik Salauddin, chairman of the Telangana State Taxi and Drivers’ JAC (TSTD JAC), said that the taxi drivers have refrain from work and kept their mobile phones off as a mark of protest.
Hafeez Shah who was unable to reach his office in Hi-tech city told that IT-corridor is mostly dependent upon the Ola and Uber vehicles, today because of the strike I couldn’t reach office.
However, areas like Jubliee Hills, Madhapur, Shaikpet, Kondapur, Hi-tech city and other places in IT-corridor were affected due to Ola and Uber strike here on Saturday.
