Suspecting extramarital affair, man enters wife’s office, stabs her 15 times: Police

A 42-year-old man was arrested by the Bhayander police for allegedly stabbing his wife to death in her office on Tuesday morning as he was suspecting that she was having an extramarital affair.

A senior police officer of Bhayander police, RK Jadhav said that Kumar had suspected his wife Veena, 35, of having an extra-marital affair due to which they used to have frequent fights. She got fed up with these fights and she left their house on January 2 without informing her husband following which he had registered a missing complaint.

On Tuesday morning, the accused went to Veena’s office and the couple then went to the lobby of the office and soon started arguing following which the accused then took out a knife and stabbed Veena 15 times and then fled the spot, said Jhadav.

She was declared brought dead when locals took her to a nearby private hospital. The police officer also stated that the “Kumar came to us and surrendered. We have also seized the knife used by Kumar, which he had brought along.”

Under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, the police then arrested Kumar for a murder. The officer further stated that “He will be produced before the Thane court on Wednesday. It seems Kumar suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair and therefore murdered her. We are, however, investigating all possible angles.”
