Swami Agnivesh manhandled again; 50 booked

Thiruvananthapuram: Social activist Swami Agnivesh was once manhandled on Wednesday while he was attending a programme organised by traditional healers. Poojappura police have registered a case in this connection, against 50 “identifiable” people on the basis of a complaint filed by Agnivesh. They were allegedly linked to Sangh Parivar outfits.

No arrest has been made so far.

As reported by the New Indian Express, 80-year-old scholar-cum-activist was heckled by right-wing activists while he came to inaugurate a seminar organised by Vaidya Mahasabha.

Alleging that Agnivesh was anti-Hindu, attackers created a ruckus at the venue. RSS workers were behind the attack, Swami alleged. He also blamed police for not taking timely and sufficient action.
